Remy R. Coeytaux, MD, PhD, Associate Professor, Duke University School of Medicine, Co-Founder, Chapel Hill Doctors Healthcare Center (USA)
Remy Coeytaux is a family physician, epidemiologist, and medical acupuncturist. He received his MD from Stanford Medical School and his PhD in Epidemiology from University of North Carolina School of Public Health. He is a former Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar and Bravewell Collaborative Fellow in Integrative Medicine. Dr. Coeytaux is Associate Professor at the Duke University School of Medicine and the Evidence Synthesis Group at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. He Co-Founded Chapel Hill Doctors Integrative Health Center and is President of Chapel Hill Primary Care, PC, a private medical practice with an integrative medicine focus. He currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator (PI) of a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of acupuncture for menopausal hot flashes sponsored the the U.S. National Institutes of Health and as PI of a K18 career enhancement award sponsored by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) that focuses on personalized health approaches to the treatment of migraine. He has served as the PI of 2 RCTs of acupuncture for hot flashes, 2 RCTs of acupuncture of the induction of labor, and 1 RCT of acupuncture for chronic daily headache. Dr. Coeytaux is on the Board of Directors of the Society for Acupuncture Research.

With a special interest in music education and cognitive neuroscience, Efthymios has extensively explored the field of music development in life, working as a professional instrumental teacher and researcher for more than 10 years. Appointments he attended in the past include two professorships in major Conservatories (Music Academies) in Greece, an appointment as a Strings Tutor and Lecturer in Music Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of East Anglia in the UK, a Post Doctoral research appointment at Harvard University, USA (working in the Mind, Brain and Education program; interdisciplinary research in Educational Psychology and Neuroscience), a visiting lectureship at the University of Cape Town, SA, as well as a directorship at the Musics R.E.D. Group Research Centre in Greece. His current research interests extend to the Mind, Brain and Music Education field, working in projects that explicitly combine developmental psychology and neuroscience (i.e. emotions in musical structure – EEG application / infants’ brainstem development through music education – ABR application). He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK, and holds the awards of a Qualified Teacher (QTS) both in the UK and Greece. He is a member of the Society for Education, Music and Psychology Research (SEMPRE), as well as the International Society for Music Education (ISME) participating in the Advocacy Standing Committee for the period of 2012-14. Efthymios is also an active member of the European String Teachers Association (ESTA) in the UK, and a Patron of the ESTA-Greece branch.
Konstantina Theodoratou, MD, Med. Psyc., MSc in Acupuncture, President of Icmart, President of Samag, Athens (Greece)
Konstantina Theodoratou after completing her medical degree in the University of Athens and practising western medicine, went in China to study TCM and acupuncture inTianjin and Beijing Universities. Actively following the evolution of medical acupuncture through her 18 years practise was elected as President of ICMART in 2014. She further deepened her studies in Guangzhou (Canton) medical university acquriing her MSc in Acupuncture. She is also specialised im Medical Psychology and Addiction Counseling at the University of Athens . Recently she participated in research, concerning behavior patterns in relation to acupuncture by the Academy of Athens’ Biomedical Institute. She is also the president of the Scientific Association of Medical Acupuncture in Greece (SAMAG) In the recent years she lectures in the Greek Educational Institute of Acupuncture, Samag and Greek Veterinarian Society.
Georgios J. Bellos, MD, PhD, MR CGP, MEPMA, Athens (Greece)
Dr. G. Bellos was born in SACRED (officially) city of Missolonghi , student in high school there and Athens and graduated from National and Kapodistrian University in Athens-Medical School. Then trained 3 years in General Practice/Family Medicine in Athens, and 2 years in Social Medicine-Public Health Medicine Crete-Medical School at Heraklion from which I was awarded my PhD in medical education. My first appointment was in Crete as Medical Director and continued in Athens Koropi Health Centre. Member of Royal College of GP’s London after a scholarship, with special training in Mental Health Promotion and Prevention, Health care management special training, and Molecular-Functional Medicine. George Lazarou, MD, MSc, PhD, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Athens (Greece)
Orthopaedic surgeon, Residency in KAT Hospital, Kifissia, graduate of the Athens University Medical School, specialized in Hand Surgery, Sports Medicine and Children’s Orthopaedics. Holds an MSc degree in Bone Metabolic Disorders from the Medical School, University of Athens and a PhD in History of Medicine from the Medical School University of Athens. Zina Chalkea, Dietician-Nutritionist, MSc in Cognitive Science)
Zina Chalkea is a nutritionist with a major interest in interdisciplinary approaches of human body and mind. She studied Dietetics and Nutritional Science in Harokopio University of Athens and specialized in clinical nutrition (cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, respiratory diseases and diabetes). Curious about the interplay between brain and gastrointestinal system she investigated the role of nutrition in autistic syndrome and presented a thorough nutritional intervention protocol in autism. She further studied Cognitive Science in the University of Athens and involved in neuroscientific research in the Academy of Athens’ Biomedical Institute – performing behavioral experiments in laboratory animals, and doing histology and immunocytochemistry. Dr Achilles E. Georgiadis graduated from theMedical School of the University of Athens in 1971 and he is Specialist of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Aggeliki Tsirigoti, Dental Surgeon, Athens, Greece.
Dr. Aggeliki Tsirigoti graduated from Dental School of Athens University in 1980 and right after she specialized at maxillofacial surgery. After she visited the Acupuncture Tianjin Hospital in China in 1993 she decided to further investigate the challenge of acupuncture application in dentistry. Daniela Litscher studied Pharmacy at the Karl-Franzens University of Graz, Austria. Her diploma thesis dealt with “Pharmacopuncture”. She received her Master degree in Pharmacy (MSc) on March 20th, 2013. She participated at several scientific conferences like the Laser Helsinki Congress (Helsinki, Finland; August 2008, 2010), Conferences of the Eurasia Pacific Uninet (Beijing/Xian, China; May/June 2009, May 2011, May 2013), or Laser Congresses (Opatija, Croatia; June 2012, Toronto, Canada; November 2013). In September 2012, she visited the Korean Pharmacopuncture Institute in Seoul, Korea. In May 2014 she gave a speech at the 1st Annual World Congress of High-Tech Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine in Nanjing, China. Currently, she works at the Medical University of Graz at the Research Unit for Complementary and Integrative Laser Medicine and the TCM Research Center Graz and is visiting Scientific Advisor of the Military Acupuncture Training Center at Chinese People’s Liberation Army Institute of Acupuncture in Beijing China (since June 1st, 2013).
